December 2012 horoscope - Libra

December will have very much of a different feel to it than November. You may still be feeling the effects of the two super eclipses in your 1st and 2nd houses of self-development and your earned income. The eclipses will have shaken things up in these areas for – I reckon more when it comes to finances unless you were born around 13th, 14th or 15th November or have your Ascendant of Moon sign in the last few degrees of Libra - and in company of Saturn, the taskmaster, in your 1st house, your outlook on life is somewhat narrowed or more focused. Who you are is in a state of change and transformation at the moment. The next two or so years are a time to strip down to what is critical to your growth and self-development; recognise your needs and don’t be afraid to face yourself. The rewards come in the form of maturity and understanding of what you need to do to get what you want from life, relationships and work. The more you embrace Saturn, the better it’ll be for you.

It’s not the easiest time in your life, Libra, but despite some hurdles you should see steady progress. Saturn in Libra can also be very helpful, it is exalted here and as you change so will your relationships. Who you choose and what you expect in return will transform, so do look forward to it. Rahu / the North node also moves into your 1st house in mid-January 2013, which, in addition to Saturn will be helping you further along the path of self-discovery over the coming 18 months. Saturn also rules your 4th house of emotions and the past so getting rid of unhealthy emotional patterns will all be part of the picture.

As we move into December, your 2nd house if packed with planetary activity so there is an incredible focus on your finances at the moment. The lunar eclipse at the end of November already put the spotlight on this area in your life and if you have been applying for a new job, a loan or are in negotiations with clients to finish deals before the year ends, then December is the time when you see things move and progress. Mercury is moving into your 2nd house on 6th December followed by Venus on 12th. So, not only will your mind and what you talk about be focused on your finances (perhaps there is also a new addition to the family which is also ruled by the second house) but you also have the potential to attract more money with your ruler Venus helping you along. This month, it’s your personality and your skills that attract some extra cash. As always, transits can manifest in a number of ways, so be very careful not to overspend. Easier said than done with all the Christmas shopping to be done but you also have Neptune in a square to all those 2nd house planets and Uranus, the planet of the unexpected in a trine. This can be useful for sudden gains but the same goes for expenses.

As every month, there is also a new Moon on 13th December which coincides with Uranus going forward in your 6th house of work and health routines. The new Moon in your second house heralds new beginnings in how you earn your money, maybe a new job offer is proofing very profitable. Uranus in the 6th house had you itching for some change in routine for quite some time, so this new Moon has the potential to really move things along. Once Jupiter goes direct in January and opposes the lunar eclipse degree in January and February 2013, there is really no stopping you anymore when it comes to putting some money in the bank. This may also be connected to an inheritance or other people’s money in some way.

In Indian astrology, this December 2012 new Moon falls in your solar 2nd house in the nakshatra of Jyestha (the chart is divided into 27 sections or nakshatras). This nakshatra is said to be an independent one and where we have to do things by ourselves. In this nakshatra, we can’t rely on others but have to take the position of leader. This position also tells me that although you may do better now to go it alone – or maybe just follow your own interests for the time being – don’t be stubborn and aggressive with it. Scorpio is a slightly aggressive but very secretive sign so make sure you keep all channels open and don’t blow anything out of proportion. In your 2nd house, this again means that when it comes to your finances, you will be more successful doing it by yourself for the time being.

Mars is also the ruler of your solar second house and spends half of the month in the 3rd house where it meets with Pluto. Again, this means that your financial situation can undergo profound changes. Mars also rules your 7th house, so you may be magnetically attracted to someone new who is quite powerful but perhaps someone who is a bit secretive.

The month then ends with the full Moon across your 3rd and 9th house axis. This time will bring things to a close and a peak, so have a think about what happened around the July 3rd full Moon as well as first quarter Moon on March 30th 2012. Anything that shifted then will be part of the story now.
